Apr 2012 - Go with what you know with patio doors
When we make choices, we tend to go with what we know. We want to feel secure in the products we buy or the services we have; yet a comparison of all the available products on the market can help determine what the best really is.
In terms of patio doors there are certainly more choices than French or sliding patio door styles. To many the other choices are not as good as the French or sliding glass doors. This is probably why you have never heard of frameless doors, but they do exist. The focus is not so much on the different varieties, but more on the fact that you have the choice to make.
You want to examine what is so great about sliding patio doors or French doors in order to understand why one might be better over the other. Sliding patio doors, for example, do not look great between a bedroom and office or hall. They are really not meant to be an interior door, though they do have an easy sliding motion. The point is that some do find that sliding glass doors in the house are worthy of consideration, whereas others enjoy French patio doors in the house over sliding doors because French doors have a sophistication and attractive appearance that glass sliding doors do not have. Ultimately you get to decide what is best, based on the natural light, comfort and usage of the doors you have in your home.
